Blizzard Entertainment, the company behind the popular action role-playing game series Diablo, has announced that it is now accepting pre-orders for Diablo 5, the latest installment in the franchise. However, fans who are expecting a major overhaul or a new storyline may be disappointed, as Diablo 5 is actually a minor DLC update for Diablo 4, which was released last year.

According to Blizzard’s official website, Diablo 5 will include half a new character class, the Necrobarian, which is a hybrid of the Necromancer and the Barbarian. The Necrobarian can summon undead minions and use brute force to smash enemies. The DLC will also feature a three-mission campaign, which will take players to the frozen lands of Northrend, where they will face a new threat: the Lich King.

Blizzard claims that Diablo 5 will offer “hour of new gameplay and challenges” for fans of the series, but some critics have pointed out that the DLC is actually very short and lacks originality. “This is a blatant cash grab by Blizzard,” said Jason Schreier, a gaming journalist and author of Blood, Sweat, and Pixels. “They are charging $70 for a DLC that should have been included in Diablo 4 as a free update. And don’t get me started on the collector’s edition.”

The collector’s edition of Diablo 5 costs $400 and includes a plaque and a statue of the Lich King, but does not include a download code for the game. Instead, buyers will have to purchase the game separately or use their existing copy of Diablo 4 to access the DLC. Blizzard says that this is to “preserve the value and rarity” of the collector’s edition, but many fans have expressed their outrage and frustration on social media.

“I can’t believe Blizzard is doing this to us,” said Kevin Smith, a longtime fan of Diablo. “I’ve been playing this series since I was a kid, and I was so excited for Diablo 5. But now I feel like I’ve been cheated and betrayed. How can they call this a new game when it’s just a DLC? And how can they charge $400 for a collector’s edition that doesn’t even include the game? This is ridiculous.”

Blizzard has not responded to the criticism or issued any apology for misleading its customers. Instead, it has urged fans to pre-order Diablo 5 as soon as possible, as it expects the game to sell out quickly. “Diablo 5 is a must-have for any fan of Diablo,” said J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard Entertainment. “It is the ultimate expression of our vision and passion for this legendary series. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the next chapter of Diablo’s epic saga.”
