In a shocking move that has left fans and critics speechless, Capcom has announced that they are working on a remake of their 2022 remake of Resident Evil 4, the classic survival horror game that was originally released in 2005. The new remake, titled RE4 Remake: Remake, will feature updated graphics, gameplay, and voice acting, as well as new content and features that were not present in the original or the first remake.

“We are very excited to bring you RE4 Remake: Remake, the definitive version of one of the most beloved games in the history of the franchise,” said Capcom producer Tsuyoshi Kanda in a press release. “We have listened to the feedback from our fans and critics, and we have decided to remake our remake to meet their expectations and demands. We are confident that RE4 Remake: Remake will be the ultimate Resident Evil 4 experience that everyone can enjoy.”

According to Kanda, RE4 Remake: Remake will include several improvements and additions over the previous remake, such as:

  • Enhanced graphics and performance, using the latest RE Engine technology.
  • Reworked gameplay mechanics, such as improved aiming, inventory management, and enemy AI.
  • New voice acting and dialogue, featuring the original cast members reprising their roles.
  • New story elements and scenarios, expanding on the lore and characters of the game.
  • New weapons, items, and enemies, adding more variety and challenge to the game.
  • New modes and features, such as VR support, co-op mode, photo mode, and online multiplayer.

Kanda also revealed that RE4 Remake: Remake will be released in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. He also hinted that Capcom is planning to remake other Resident Evil remakes in the future, such as RE5 Remake: Remake, RE6 Remake: Remake, and RE7 Remake: Remake.

“We hope that you are looking forward to RE4 Remake: Remake as much as we are,” Kanda said. “We believe that this is the best way to honor the legacy of Resident Evil 4 and to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Thank you for your continued support and stay tuned for more updates.”
