Dafuqboom Abruptly Cancels Skibidi Toilet Due To Too Much Profit
HOLLYWOOD, CA — In a surprising move, DreamWorks Animation announced today that it has acquired the rights to adapt the viral YouTube series Skibidi Toilet into a feature length animated movie. The studio plans to release the film in 2024, with the original creator DaFuq!?Boom! serving as a co-producer and consultant.
"We are thrilled to bring Skibidi Toilet to the big screen and introduce it to a wider audience," said DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg. "We believe that this series has a unique charm and humor that will appeal to both kids and adults, and we are confident that our talented team of animators and writers will deliver a spectacular cinematic experience."
Skibidi Toilet, which debuted in February 2023 as a YouTube Short, tells the story of an army of sentient toilets with men's heads coming out of them fighting for dominance against a bunch of men in suits with cameras for heads. The series features a remix of the songs "Give It To Me" by Timbaland and "Dom Dom Yes Yes" by Biser King, and showcases the toilets singing and dancing in various settings. The series has become a global phenomenon, generating memes, fan art and videos across different platforms, and attracting over 2 billion views on YouTube.
The movie adaptation will expand on the plot and characters of the series, and introduce new elements such as a love interest for the main toilet protagonist, a secret origin story for the toilets, and a climactic battle scene in New York City. The movie will also feature original songs composed by Hans Zimmer and Pharrell Williams, as well as cameo appearances by celebrities such as Dwayne Johnson, Ariana Grande and Elon Musk.
"We are honored and excited to work with DreamWorks on this project," said DaFuq!?Boom!, the creator of Skibidi Toilet. "We never expected our series to become so popular and influential, and we are grateful for all the support and feedback from our fans. We hope that the movie will capture the essence and spirit of Skibidi Toilet, and make everyone laugh and dance along."
The announcement of the movie adaptation has received mixed reactions from fans and critics. Some have expressed enthusiasm and curiosity about how DreamWorks will translate the series into a full-length film, while others have expressed skepticism and disappointment about the potential loss of originality and quality.
"I can't wait to see Skibidi Toilet on the big screen," said Jessica Lee, a 12-year-old who subscribes to DaFuq!?Boom! "I love the series so much, it's so funny and catchy. I hope they keep the same songs and jokes, and maybe add some more cool stuff."
"I think this is a terrible idea," said Matt Zoller Seitz, a renowned film critic from New York. "Skibidi Toilet is a low-brow, nonsensical and disturbing series that has no artistic merit or social value. It's a waste of time and money to make a movie out of it. DreamWorks should focus on making original and meaningful stories instead of cashing in on cheap internet trends."
