Silicon Valley, CA — In a shocking turn of events, the satirical tech zine Grames Infomer finds itself embroiled in a legal battle with gaming giant Atari. The bone of contention? The audacious use of the word “Grames.”

“We’re just a bunch of nerds trying to make people laugh,” says Dunko Xyvir, the beleaguered editor-in-chief of Grames Infomer. “Who knew that our clever wordplay would land us in hot water?”

The Grames Dilemma

Grames Infomer, known for its cutting-edge articles on nonexistent gadgets, fake startup culture, and absurd tech trends, has been a staple in the tech satire scene. Their tagline, “Ctrl+LOL” has garnered a cult following among programmers, sysadmins, and anyone who’s ever tried to debug their toaster.

But now, Atari claims that Grames Infomer’s use of the term “Grames” infringes upon their newly revived publishing arm, Infogrames. Yes, you read that right — Atari is back from the digital graveyard, dusting off their old name like a retro console found in the attic.

“We were just having a laugh,” says Dunko, sipping his artisanal kombucha. “Grames is just a portmanteau of ‘geek’ and ‘frames.’ It’s like saying, ‘Hey, we’re the cool kids who wear thick glasses and can recite the entire Linux kernel from memory.’ But apparently, Atari thinks we’re stealing their mojo.”

The Legal Battle

Atari’s legal team, clad in vintage Pac-Man T-shirts, filed a cease-and-desist letter against Grames Infomer. The letter, written in Comic Sans, demands that Grames cease all use of the term “Grames” immediately.

“We’re prepared to fight this all the way to the Supreme Court,” declares Dunko, adjusting his oversized novelty spectacles. “We’ve got memes, GIFs, and a stack of Raspberry Pi boards as evidence. Plus, our mascot — a pixelated platypus named ‘Bytely’ — is ready to testify.”

Dunko’s Plea

In a heartfelt plea to their readers, Dunko Xyvir implores:

“Dear fellow nerds, geeks, and code poets, we need your help! If you know any lawyers who specialize in pixelated litigation or have experience with ASCII art subpoenas, please send them our way. We’re also accepting donations in Dogecoin, NFTs, and vintage floppy disks. Together, we can keep the spirit of Grames alive!”

And so, the battle rages on. Will Grames Infomer emerge victorious, armed with humor and a dash of Python code? Or will Atari’s legal eagles squash them like a bug in an early ’80s arcade game?

Stay tuned, dear readers. The pixels are about to hit the fan.

“First, they came for the floppy disks, and I did not speak out — because I had USB drives.

Then they came for the dial-up modems, and I did not speak out — because I had broadband.

Next, they came for the CRT monitors, and I did not speak out — because I had LCD screens.

After that, they came for the VGA connectors, and I did not speak out — because I had HDMI.

Finally, they came for our Grames, and there was no tech left to stop them.”
