"Incredibles 3" to Focus on Jack-Jack’s Existential Crisis as an All-Powerful Being

BURBANK, CA—In a stunning announcement that left fans both excited and perplexed, Disney revealed yesterday that the highly anticipated "Incredibles 3" will revolve around Jack-Jack Parr, the youngest member of the superhero family, as he navigates the treacherous waters of being a disenfranchised adult human with godlike powers. The movie promises to explore Jack-Jack's inner turmoil as he contemplates whether to rewrite humanity in his image or forever isolate himself from the human race.

The news sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with many questioning Disney's audacity to tackle such weighty themes in a family-friendly animated film. But according to director Brad Bird, this decision was a natural progression for the franchise.

"We’ve seen Jack-Jack grow from a mischievous baby to an unruly toddler with powers beyond imagination. Now, it’s time to witness his struggle as he grapples with the responsibility and consequences that come with those powers as an adult," Bird explained. "We want to delve into the existential crisis that arises when a seemingly invincible being questions their place in the universe."

Bird emphasized that the movie would explore the complex moral dilemmas Jack-Jack faces as he considers the two polarizing options before him. On one hand, he could use his limitless abilities to reshape humanity according to his whims, ushering in a utopian society. On the other hand, he could choose to distance himself from humans altogether, living in self-imposed isolation, finding no solace in his immense power.

Disney executives are confident that this groundbreaking departure from the usual superhero narrative will resonate with audiences of all ages.

"Jack-Jack's internal struggle is something we can all relate to on some level. Who among us hasn't felt torn between our desire for power and our need for human connection?" mused Disney CEO Bob Chapek. "Plus, think of the merchandise potential! 'Jack-Jack's Existential Crisis' pajamas, action figures, and even a line of existential-themed breakfast cereals. It's a goldmine!"

While some fans expressed excitement over the prospect of a deep exploration of human existence in an animated superhero film, others were skeptical. Twitter exploded with a mixture of anticipation and confusion, with one user tweeting, "So, 'Incredibles 3' is essentially a Pixar version of 'Watchmen’? I’m not sure whether to be thrilled or terrified."

Disney's decision to tackle such profound themes raises important questions about the future of animated storytelling. Will we see more cartoons grappling with the complexities of the human condition? Only time will tell.

"Incredibles 3: Jack-Jack’s Ascension" is slated for release in the summer of 2024.
