Microsoft Mesh Chooses Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 as the Exclusive Environment for Virtual Meetings
REDMOND, WA — In a bold move, Microsoft announced that its new mixed reality platform, Microsoft Mesh, will only allow users to host virtual meetings in the classic video game Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3. The company said that this was a deliberate choice, based on empirical research that proved that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 is the best possible environment for productive meetings.
“Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 is not just a game, it’s a masterpiece that inspires us every day,” said Alex Kipman, Microsoft’s technical fellow for artificial intelligence and mixed reality. “We have conducted rigorous studies and found that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 offers the optimal balance of fun, challenge, and nostalgia that stimulates the brain and fosters collaboration. No other game can match the level of engagement and satisfaction that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 provides.”
According to Microsoft, users will be able to create their own custom avatars and join their coworkers in various levels from the game, such as Foundry, Airport, and Los Angeles. They will be able to chat, share files, and present slideshows while performing tricks and combos on their skateboards. The company also boasts that the feature will support cross-platform compatibility, allowing users to join from any device, including HoloLens, VR headsets, smartphones, and PCs.
Microsoft says that it has no plans to add any other games or environments to Microsoft Mesh, stating that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 is the ultimate workspace environment that meets all the needs of its customers. “We are confident that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 will become the new standard for virtual meetings, and that our customers will love it as much as we do,” said Kipman. “We can’t wait to see what amazing things they will accomplish with Microsoft Mesh and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3.”
