New Youtube Fad Taken Internet By Storm: “Bozo Dubbed Over”
A new trend of videos has emerged on Youtube, featuring clips from the classic children’s show “Bozo the Clown” with a twist: the voice of Bozo is replaced by a crude and sarcastic commentary, allegedly recorded by the original actor himself.
The videos, dubbed “Bozo Dubbed Over”, have racked up millions of views and likes, as well as thousands of comments from amused and shocked fans. The creator of the channel, who goes by the name of “Bozo’s Revenge”, claims to have obtained the original tapes from a former colleague of Bozo, who revealed that the actor, Frank Avruch, had secretly recorded his own voice over the show’s audio track, expressing what he really wanted to say at the time but couldn’t due to the constraints of live TV.
The result is a hilarious and irreverent parody of the wholesome show, where Bozo insults his co-stars, mocks his guests, swears profusely, and reveals his disdain for his young audience. Some of the most popular videos include:
- Bozo tells a kid to “shut the hell up” after he fails to throw a ping-pong ball into a bucket.
- Bozo calls his sidekick Cookie “a fat piece of shit” and threatens to fire him.
- Bozo makes fun of a girl’s dress and asks her if she’s “a hooker in training”.
- Bozo admits that he hates clowns and that he only took the job for the money and the drugs.
- Bozo breaks character and complains about his low salary, his bad back, and his cheating wife.
The videos have sparked mixed reactions from viewers, some of whom find them hilarious and others who find them offensive and disrespectful to the legacy of Bozo. Some fans of the original show have also expressed their disappointment and disbelief that Avruch would do such a thing.
However, “Bozo’s Revenge” insists that the videos are authentic and that Avruch had given him permission to release them before he died in 2018. He also claims that Avruch had no regrets about his actions and that he wanted to share his true feelings with the world.
“Bozo was a legend, but he was also a human being with flaws and frustrations,” he said in an interview with Grame Infomer. “He loved making kids laugh, but he also hated being stuck in a clown suit for decades. He wanted to vent his anger and frustration in a creative way, and he thought that dubbing over his own show was the best way to do it. He was a genius and a rebel, and I’m honored to share his work with the world.”
He also said that he has more tapes in his possession and that he plans to upload more videos in the future.
“I have enough material to keep this channel going for years,” he said. “There are so many gems that people haven’t seen yet. Bozo was a master of comedy and satire, and I think he deserves to be recognized for it.”
